Semester's End ...

So it's been awhile eh! Truthfully I have been the most boring person alive, there is literally nothing to tell you about!

School and work have been keeping me crazy, insane busy. By the 8th I have to hand in 2 final papers and write my final exam. That is it for me for the semester though. I took today off work to get some homework done, so fare all I have done is get more songs for this new computer! YIKES! I'm kinda screwed so I'll be cramming big time for the next week or so.

Yesterday was my baby bro's 19th birthday. Holy moly, I can't believe it. We had a nice family dinner in Chilliwack, it was fun. We all did shots and drank. Hehe. Good times. J is going with my parents to the cabin this weekend to do some work. I'm pretty jealous and really lucky to have a boyfriend who offered to go with my parents by himself for a 5 hour drive to spend a long weekend doing chores. Haha. What a sweetie. He loves the cabin just as much as I do and can't wait til it's all ours and we have some time to spend there. Oh time, why are you always in such short supply?

Speaking of J, he got more work done on his tattoos which is cool. He's currently in the middle of getting two full sleeves done. When we first moved to the city he got flames going up his left arm. They were just outlined forever but in the last two months he got them shaded and now he's almost done the colour. They look great. I can't wait til absolutely everything is done, but somehow I doubt he will EVER be completely done with tattoos. He's really sweet and has left a space for the tattoo I want but could never go through with and has plans for tattoos when he has kids. So cute. Omg. Love him. And since he can't wear a wedding ring as a welder, he has already told me that he wants a tattoo wedding band. I know it sounds tacky but if you knew him, you'd get it. Plus, how much more permanent can ya get eh! Haha, I guess I'll never have to wonder if he takes his ring off when he goes out with the boys! :P

Well, I really do have to get going. I'll be back with more and hopefully some interesting weddings stories in the next week or so! J is a groomsman on the 10th, so cute! I'm excited for this wedding, it will be fantastic!!

Computer fuuuuuuuun!!

Well, I just received my new Macbook, iPod and printer yesterday! YAY! So obviously I've been playing around with it. J and I don't have a digital camera (or one that doesn't use 4 batteries per picture anyhow) and my Macbook has a camera! YAY! So I played around yesterday. Here are some of my results .. they crack me up!

Joe!

I love you buddy!

As you can see, convincing Kirby to take pictures with Mom was difficult and resulted in *crazzzzzy hair* haha.

Well, that's it for now. I have laundry and homework and work to do ... oh joy!

Let's pop the top off life for awhile and ... *

... some take it easy days! *

Wow, have I ever neglected this thing eh! Well the summer weather has finally begun ... FINALLY! And just as the weather gets nice, my schedule gets crazy so I don't have time to enjoy the sunshine. Of course it works like that!

So I got a new job. At a Ford dealership. It's going well but it's keeping me very very busy. Though I've already had my first pay cheque and I have to say, it was nice even if it was only for a week of work. Everyone is really sweet and the job is so easy. I'm actually encouraged to study and do homework when it's slow (which is like 90% of my shift .. saweeeeet!) It's just nice to feel like a contributing member of the household again.

My new iPod, MacBook and printer are all delivered. Unfortunately I had them delivered to my parents so someone could be home to sign for them (otherwise I have to drive allll the way out to the airport in Richmond and it's a HUGE pain in the ass!!) so I don't have them in my hands. I want them SO bad now that they are in. I wasn't in a huge rush to order them but as soon as I did I became a FedEx stalker and now I'm just itching to play around on my new toys!

Despite me being so busy J and I are actually doing well. That's usually the downside to me working, J starts to feel ignored and things get a bit tense. So far he's been really good and started back up at the gym for something to do. It's good because he's so much happier when he goes to the gym. Right now I feel like that is the only thing missing from my life, more exercise. Maybe in August when school is done and I just have work I can get back into a good routine that way.

I'm also registered for the Fall semester. I love registering ... a new schedule, new goals and because it's Fall, a new agenda! Right now I'm registered in 6 classes .. yikes. Though 4 of them are distance ed. I'm debating dropping one. Yeah, I should probably drop one. Otherwise things will just get a little TOO crazy. I've done six once before ... it was the worst idea of my life. Ahh! Haha.

Well I have 2 final papers due in the next few weeks so I should run!

All my friends are so small town*

... my parents live in the same small town *

Optional title: "I was born in a small town ... and I can breathe in a small town" (kinda ironic considering it's when I go back to the small towns that my allergies act up like crazy ... haha)

Another weekend, another post eh?! There is some new stuff in my life which is kinda nice.

First out, today is my niece Brook's 2nd birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROOK! I love you. :) Unfortunately, though I am in Hope, I can't go to her party today. I have developed laryngitis this weekend. Isn't that lovely? At least I got to be with Miss Brook Friday night and all day yesterday. My voice was really hoarse yesterday which Brook *loved* but today I have no voice. At. All. Totally. Completely. Gone. All that comes out is a wind sound. Yikes.

Also, I got a new job. YAY me. haha. I'm a receptionist at a Ford dealership in Langley. I got the job Friday. Only problem: I start tomorrow. Why is this a problem? Well, I have no voice. It's going to be hard to answer phones with hand signals! I'm really at a loss for what to do! I also have a presentation on Wednesday after work. Really, my timing to lose my voice is positively impeccable. I've been drinking tea with lemon and honey like it's going out of style. I have a nasal spray to clear any congestion, I've been taking steam baths and hot showers. Basically I've tried everything on WebMD (omg, did I just admit to self-diagnosing?). I have a dr. appointment tomorrow morning here in Hope (I already had it, it's why I'm in town). I'm fairly certain the laryngitis (or what I'm 98% positive is laryngitis) is a reaction to my allergies. Last weekend it was hives, this weekend laryngitis. I think I just have to stay away from the Fraser Valley (where the cottonwood is flying around like crazy) for awhile. Anyway, I can talk to the dr. about it (or WRITE to the dr. about it) tomorrow as I get my shot. Yup, a shot. I'm getting that new Guardasil vaccine. Should be interesting. The needles are in the fridge as we speak. Yes, needles, plural. The vaccine is a 3 shot set, the first, the second shot is 2 months after the first, and the third is 6 months after the first or 4 months after the 2nd. Ugh. Have a mentioned I have the most irrational fear of needles? I also have a dentist appointment tomorrow morning, really, I'm in for a great day tomorrow. :(

In better news, I ordered my new Macbook, iPod nano and printer this morning. YAY! They should be here by July 22. I'm excited. I already have a Mac desktop (eMac) and an older iPod nano. I can't wait for my new stuff to come in. :) I'm keeping my desktop just as it is as it is still fast and awesome. I really love my Mac. I just want a laptop for school and travelling and what not. My old iPod is going to J, he's really excited. He has an iPod shuffle but wants my nano now. I wouldn't be getting the nano or the printer if it weren't for the deal Mac has on. With the purchase of a new Mac you can choose a free 8GB iPod Nano or 8GB iPod Touch. Also, you get $100 off a new printer (there are Epson or Canon models to choose from). Basically, I get a free iPod and a brand new all-in-one Canon for $50. Go here to check it out. :)

Other than that, not much is new. I've been in Hope since Friday night. I went out to the bar with Brook's mom, Britt Friday night. It was fantastic and kinda awkward. I ran into people I haven't seen since grad and got some catching up in. Yesterday I got to spend lots of auntie time with the birthday girl and it was fantastic. I miss that munchkin like crazy, I wish I could be a part of her daily life. Today I guess I will just try to lay low, drink insane amounts of tea and get some studying in.

I hope you are having a fantastic weekend!

Sunshine and Summertime *

Okay so I actually really hate that song but it describes the long weekend perfectly!!! I had a great Canada Day long weekend, especially since J got 4 full days off in a row. It was amazing. It was fabulous to get out of the apartment and city for a few days out in the country.

Friday night we headed out to the Wack with my mother in law and brother in law in the new Jeep. I immediately got some sun so that was fantastic. Friday night was pretty laidback with MIL and I drinking margaritas in the sun on the deck for hours. The only bad thing was that they live in the Wack which is full of cottonwood which I am allergic to. My eyes started to bother me so I went to bed.

Saturday was chill at the house and my FIL's brother and 3 of his little kids came out for the night. It was so much fun to have the little ones around (4, 6 and 12) plus my brother in law (11). I played with the kids and drank with the adults. In the afternoon the cottonwood caught up to me and I broke out into massive hives all over my legs. It was terrible. After a ridiculously long trip to SuperStore to get some medication they started to go down after about 4 hours. The meds knocked me out though so I was asleep for a good portion of the afternoon. :(

Sunday was just us with my inlaws. We hung out and went to the waterslides for some cool fun. It was a blast. J and I haven't been in years so it was great. I actually got some studying in for my midterm this afternoon as well.

Monday was fun as J and I had the house to ourselves. The inlaws were buying a new fridge and bed so they went to Langley to pick up a truck and whatnot. We got to spend the day just together getting a few errands done around town and relaxing together. We drove around in the country, went running in cornfields, took a nap in the tent and played in the river. Then when the inlaws got home we helped move in their new fridge and bed (and took their old bed! YAY! king size, finally!!). Finally we went home Monday night to catch the fireworks in Langley.

Tuesday was Canada Day but we opted to hit up the park across the street for some R&R rather than hit up the big bashes around town. We bought some good bread, good cheese, deli meats and fresh fruit and laid on a blanket in the sun with Joe all afternoon. We talked, played with Joe, played frisbee, napped and read. It was fantastic but I have a bit of a burn on my back today. After the sun went down and the temperature dropped a bit we set up our new bed. We had to do some furniture switches with R receiving our old bed and our futon (that R had been using) being moved back into the living room. The apartment feels really full now but that's okay. We finally have a king size bed, I'm in heaven.

Today is back to the grind and I have a midterm in an hour. Yuck. I have to head out to Hope Friday night for some Dr and Dentist appointments, totally not looking forward to it. July is already going by so quickly as my agenda becomes more and more packed for this month. It's insane. I took an hour this afternoon to plan out my next school year and it is more busy than I would like. However, no matter what it is the last year of my undergrad .. thank goodness!!! I was ready to freak! haha.

Well, I have a midterm in less than an hour so I should probably run. There are a few interesting big developments going on in my life that I will share once they are more concrete. :)
